I have two potential storylines but they may be geared more toward the YA reader. One is based on the multiverse theory and the other is a population decimated by an act of terrorism that goes out of control. I'm not a fan of unrealistic paranormal fiction (like City of Bones) so both will take a considerable amount of research.

I'll hear a lyric in a song or see an image and my brain immediately creates a story for it. 'Solitary' came from the first line of a Gavin DeGraw song. The entire story, boom, just popped into my head.

Music, Pinterest, Tumblr. I look for inspiration. I usually have several manuscripts going at one time so if I get stuck on one I can skip to another and pick up my creative thread there.

I am an introvert by nature, albeit a social one. I like spending time with the people in my head.

Write, write, write...always be writing something. Even if you feel blocked, find a picture that speaks to you and write a paragraph using a the photo as a setting. Look to music or art for inspiration. And always, always be reading authors who write better than you. When I'm struggling, I read Joyce Carole Oats.

I'm currently finishing a novella titled 'Crybaby Bridge' that tells the story of a family who, facing impending tragedy, completely falls apart.

Living in the suburbs has given me considerable fodder for a book about a woman who lives in the suburbs.
