The only opinion that matters is your own. I was terrified to share my books with the public, and I still am (since it isn't even released yet as I write this and only three people besides myself know it exists). I write not for anyone else, but myself. The joy I find in writing makes the entire process worth it, and that's what I focus on. If people hate my writing or my stories, in the end it doesn't matter because they are the ones they are written for. They are for the 8 year old me that would spend all day playing with his toys and living in this fantasy world.

I honestly love writing. When I am forced to write for school or work, I find a lot less enjoyment in it, but writing the Ascent Archives has been unbelievable rewarding. I constantly have new ideas and stories I want to develop, and being able to put them down in to words and seeing the whole arc of characters come together makes all the stress and headaches worth it.

The Ascent Archives is a series I actually started thinking about when I was a child. My older brother and I used to play with our toys and we created this world that they lived in, which I've used and adapted in to my writing. As a child I never thought the world we were playing in would turn up again.

For me, I love to read and watch tv for my inspiration. I'm a huge tv fan and I have around 8 shows that I watch religiously (I have an app on my phone that I can mark of episodes I've seen, give them ratings, and it lets me know when new episodes are coming out). I am always reading a new book, it's how I go to bed every night. All of these forms of entertainment are what spark my brain and sometimes give me the smallest idea I need for my writing.

Sometimes I have to just simply walk away from writing for a day, a week, even a month depending on how bad it is. If I try and force myself through writer's block I am always disappointed with the finished product. Other times, when it's less severe, I will create voice memos on my phone and on long drives I will just sit and talk through ideas until I figure out where I want the story to go or find the missing piece in a chapter.
