Alcatraz Dey There is so much to learn as a writer. I think the most important one is to have patience. you will always not blurt out your best on paper. Sometimes, you need to hold back. Also, your work may not get popular or garner the success it deserves. Have patience and deploy a silent path towards it. The more you shout, the sooner you will fade away.
The most important thing is to realize why do you write? For fame, for success or for satisfaction. The day you realize why, you will be a much better writer.
And personally, for me, writing is my outburst of emotions. I am sad, I will write, I am angry I will write, I am super excited, I will write. The most important lesson as a writer you need to understand is the world is temporary, your words are permanent. So whatever you write, will be forever.
Alcatraz Dey For me , it will always be Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. I know they are not exactly a couple but the chemistry and understanding they share is beyond what any romantic couple will share!
Alcatraz Dey Accept the fact that even the biggest best-sellers are shunned by 70% of the public. Write books because you love your topic and hope to connect with at least a few readers who share your interest. If you're looking for a quick path to riches and fame, pick a different career. I once had a facebook friend whose surname was bestseller, I later realised he purposefully added it to attract readers. If anyone has to tag you with that title it has to be the audience and not on your own. I firmly believe one should write for a lifetime, but not just to become a bestseller. You might as well sell underwear then and start calling yourself that.
Alcatraz Dey Never to give up and stop believing in your work. I see many writers who write one novel out of the blue and give up because it was not a huge success. Remember you do not write to become a bestselling author. You write to see satisfied readers. Even if you have only a few, that must be the motivation you need.
Alcatraz Dey It feels bad of course
My book is for people who are secular, witty and inquisitive. If you don't possess these qualities you will not like it 70 percent of the times. It's a book and people will have opinions. The efforts were to make it worth a read. And if 10 percent people love it I will be very glad
Alcatraz Dey I am a combination of Vish and Ihsin. A bit of this and that. Frankly, I will have to accept more of Ihsin.
Alcatraz Dey Honestly whatever I write is a mix of lots of facts which mixes with fiction. So there is a thin line between appreciation and confusion. If you see most of the reviewers have told you cannot afford to miss a single world. The book is supposed to draw you in and feed on your inquisitiveness. If you are not inquisitive and a bad listener, in this case if you are just scanning through the lines, you will get confused eventually!!!
Alcatraz Dey You need to search for an answer and the answer is what was the purpose of writing the book in first place? Of course you should have a plot or story line scribbled down somewhere. Always try and see what the reader will feel when he reads your book. Will he find it boring? or will he find it interesting?
Alcatraz Dey Writers who are not passionate about their work have a writer's block. I have never had till now.
Alcatraz Dey I can kill anyone, love anyone and do anything which I want to through my characters.
Alcatraz Dey Book 2 and the last one in The Colossal Series, The Sacrilege of Annie
Alcatraz Dey I write to channel my frustration into a more creative form.
