It's more then a little autobiographical. Though I am sans monstrous hallucinations. I wanted to tell a horror story where the main character wasn't some hero, he was just being carried along by terrible events totally out of his control. A bit lovecraftian without taking from his Gothic aesthetic.

I've been collecting ideas for years. Always have something to write down an idea whenever it hits me. Usually it comes from getting a glimpse of something normal from a new direction. For Dave Woke Up it was trying to take the idea of the dreary work of a cube farmer and make it real. The result was ash people. Honestly I couldn't tell you how A leads to B with that one.

Just finished the first complete draft for a new novel. It's a sci-fi story with dashes of fantasy. It's tentative title is "The Forest and the Trees"
