Kim Watts That would have to be Middle Earth - such a beautiful place to explore and maybe have an adventure! Obviously I would also like to visit Ealdhun and Breena just to see how Prudence is getting on!
Kim Watts I have been so busy with the writing I haven't really made a list. I do have a holiday coming up in July though and I usually take a copy of Pride and Prejudice with me when i'm on holiday just as a fallback if I can't find anything else.
Kim Watts Hmm, an interesting one! I have given this some thought and this little mystery goes way back to when I was first married. My hubby and I were living in an old farmhouse belonging to the National Trust and was part of a large estate. One evening when I was alone in the house I was visited by a 'presence' someone ran there fingers down my spine as I was leaning over the arm of a chair to select a record (Yes we are talking pre cd days!). I took a couple of seconds to turn around as I assumed it was the hubby just coming in from the garden, but when I turned round no one was there. We lived in that house for three years and never experienced anything else like that, although I was never really comfortable there and to this day I have often wondered who my visitor was........
Kim Watts That's easy and probably not very original! My favourite fictional couple has got to be Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet. I have read and re-read Pride and Prejudice so many times and enjoy it every time. Jane Austen's humour is brilliant and the way Darcy and Elizabeths pre-judgement of each other slowly unravels makes this a beautiful romance. This would definitely be my 'desert island book!'
Kim Watts I go for a good long walk or listen to music - both are an excellent source of inspiration for me.
Kim Watts Another difficult question to answer! I love watching your characters grow and develop; weaving a story around them and then the wonderful sense of achievement once that story is complete. I have had various different jobs over the years but none have given me such a feeling of satisfaction and pride in my work as writing does.
Kim Watts Just write! Write what comes from the heart; be driven by your own passion and don't submit to what is current or trendy, reading would be very boring if we all did that! As long as you are enjoying what you are doing then don't give up. if you really put your heart into what you are doing there will be a kindred spirit out there somewhere who will want to share what you are doing
Kim Watts I am currently working on the second volume of 'The Chronicles of Prudence, the Foundling Fairy ( The Gatekeeper being volume one). I also have two other works that I have under review, both are ghost stories and both are for an older reader. I would like to have these ready by the end of the year - although judging by my progress so far that could be a little ambitious!
Kim Watts This is a difficult one because writing is something I have always had as a hobby right back to the dim distant past of my school days! It's just something I love to do - it's not really a case of getting inspired it's more finding the time to get my ideas on paper.
Kim Watts My latest book, 'The Gatekeeper' is the first part of a trilogy. It is a children's story (aimed at children aged between about the ages of 9-13) and I was inspired to write it when I found out I was going to be a Grandmother for the first time!
