It releases things inside of me and also gives me reason to seek things I'm looking for. I wrote somewhere once, "In writing, I am both lost and found." I can literally lose myself for hours with a pen and a notebook and I learn so much about myself and the world around me in the process. There's nothing like it.

I would echo what's already been said: write daily, write for yourself, write as if no one will ever read your work, and believe in yourself as a writer. Unfortunately there will always be some troll that will criticize your work, but that is no reason to shy away from it. The world needs your stories.
