First I get annoyed and pick my pen up and put it down and then iIl repeat the process until I am very annoyed and then I might have a fig biscuit and glass of milk and then I put the pen and paper away and do something different. And as always, very soon after I am smiling again in my forehead frowning way because I'm diving to get my pen and paper out of the draw. Sometimes I don't write for an hour or a day but I get their in the end. As I always say the only un-frustrated writers in the world are the readers. Just enjoy it and if it becomes a chore, don't be a bore go and do something fun and get back to it when it feels right for you.

I think it is the reactions from the people who read the books. I have always loved making people happy and it is good to know that because of me somebody has got a book on their shelf that the read often. I write for the people of the world and not for myself..

Without looking at a book before you write. Get a pen and write and see what happens. It does not matter if it is good, just have a go. Every book I write starts life as a mess of ink, scribbles, drawings and thoughts. But in the end if you have got the passion, it works. Believe in your writing and don't snap the pen just because the nib spells words wrong. Go for it and enjoy, if you don't enjoy it your not doing it right..

I relax and try not to think. If I am writing about a character, then I develop the character first. and then I start to write. Most of the time a cup of mint tea helps clear the mind allowing me to think properly.

I had the idea for Harry Bobbington, when I was a boy. The book is based on parts of my life as a six year old and I tailored the character and fun bits to suit. I wrote a lot when I was a child and I had lots of ideas. I wish now that I kept certain ideas to myself, because sometimes some people are not true to their words and steel them. Copy write everything... leave nothing to chance.
