Sarah Ruhl I'm currently working on a collection of essays called WHAT MY PHONE WON'T TEACH ME. They are longer essays than my book ESSAYS I DON'T HAVE TIME TO WRITE, which I wrote when my children were very small. These new essays probably have more political rage in them, and they are longer, just as my children are now taller.

We wrote it as a way of forestalling death when he was alive; and after he was gone, I finished it as a way of remembering him.
