Charles de Lint Hi Lisa. Unfortunately there are no plans for any public appearances this year but I do hope to have the 2nd Juniper Wiles out this year. Thanks for taking the time to drop me a line.
Charles de Lint It would take a book to answer this. I've been a music junkie since I was 10 when my parents first brought home an album called The Fabulous Johnny Cash. Since then music's been a constant soundtrack to my life. I worked in record stores for years and have played in lots of bands.
A fav band is Calexico but I love all kinds of music from trad. Celtic to jazz, Americana to pop, Reggae and British folk.
If you want to hear my music you can stream it at https://charlesdelint.bandcamp.com/
Charles de Lint They will be in another book with the crow girls--in fact it's the one I'm working on at the moment. Unfortunately, it'll be a little while before it comes out because I've got a few other finished books that I want to publish first.
Charles de Lint It's not really up to me which books come out in audi and which don't, Savage. I'd like them to all be available. My agent told me recently that he's had some new queries but then the lockdown began so we'll have to wait to see what happens...
Charles de Lint You could try Memory & Dream, The Onion Girl, Someplace to Be Flying or the new one, The Wind in His Heart. If you go to this Amazon page (http://amzn.to/2xJKvSJ) you can sample most of those titles there to see if any of them click for you. If you do decide to try something I hope you enjoy it.
Charles de Lint I don't have a preference, I just love hearing from readers. You can write to me here at Goodreads, email at cdelint@gmail.com, paper at P.O. Box 9480, Ottawa, ON, Canada K1G 3V2, at my public FB page, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr--whatever you like.
Charles de Lint We're working on it, Mona. At the moment it's just MaryAnn and me and there aren't enough hours in the day. We're making sure that The Wind in His Heart gets the best chance it can get before we go back to working on more of the older titles. Sorry about the delay!
Charles de Lint I'm so glad to hear that the story resonated with you in such a way, Lisa.

I'd forgotten that Lesli went to live with the Kelledys but I can tell you that they'll be making cameos in the next (as yet untitled) book which will be coming out early next year. At the moment I have nothing planned for them to be the leads characters in a story--sorry about that.

Charles de Lint They're in the as yet untitled book that will be coming out after The Wind in His Heart, probably early next year, though there's more of Jilly in it than Geordie.
Charles de Lint They featured in both books, Rebecca, but were introduced in Moonheart. They were called Weirdin and involved a set of bone discs with images on either side and a reading cloth. The idea of producing a set is one of those things that gets talked about a lot but there never seems to be the time to actually make it happen. I've seen some that readers have produced for their own use and every time I do it makes me want to get back to working on it but alas reality gets in the way. At least so far.
I was so sorry to hear about the fire. That must have been devastating. If you go to the contact section of my website (https://www.sfsite.com/charlesdelint/...) and send me an email telling me your preference for either epub or mobi I'll send you copies of those two books to help fill your (at least) virtual shelves.
Charles de Lint Getting ready for the book launch for The Wind in His Heart. But of course I'm always working on something new so I sneak in a little writing every day on a new currently untitled novel.
Charles de Lint The trade paperback, ebook and digital audio (from Recorded Books) will be out on Sept. 19. The CD audio and a limited edition hardcover (PS Publishing) will be out in the spring of 2018.
Charles de Lint I was kindly allowed to use lines from "The Light Will Stay On" as an epigraph to the last part of Someplace to Be Flying. On promotional events for that book we always did a short set of music and included that song--not that anyone can match the sublime version that Carla sings, but we did our best.
Charles de Lint I know that the answer to this is expected to be literal (who stole the diamonds, why does the car's odometer have a thousand more miles on it than it had yesterday morning while it's been sitting undriven in the garage) but I don't have those kinds of mysteries in my life. But I do have the ones that we all confront each day: what makes people do what they do? And I write about that all the time.
Charles de Lint I have the audio rights to all the books that don't have audio versions at this point and I do plan to explore ways to indie publish them since Blackstone (who has the done the most of my audio books) don't seem inclined to do anymore. The problem is I'm also trying to get my backlist up in digital format *and* work on new material so the time to set this into motion keeps getting pushed back. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Charles de Lint I am, indeed, and support them on social media and elsewhere. Water rights come up in the book I mentioned in my response to your last question but I haven't found a good fictional forum in which to address them more fully as of yet.
Charles de Lint I like the crow girls, too, so you can be sure they'll show up again at some point, but I've nothing planned at the moment.
I do have a new book coming called The Wind in His Heart which will hopefully be good news for your last question.
Charles de Lint It depends on what kind of book you like, but since you're asking me and are possibly a reader of my books, I'd recommend The Wood Wife by Terri Windling.
Charles de Lint Audiobook offers for my books appear to have stalled in the last couple of years, which unfortunately also includes the back catalogue with titles like Mulengro. My wife MaryAnn and I have been working on getting my back list up in digital format with our own imprint and do plan to do the same with audiobooks, but there's only the two of us so it's going to take some time.

Sorry to make you wait.
