Virginia, this isn't a question but a response to your request that I annotate my review of your book with SPOILER ALERT. It's done. I'm not sure the sentences spoil the story for readers, but as a writer, I can understand your concern, so no problem complying. Is this sufficient?

Virginia King Hi Charles, I've only just seen your reply. Apologies for not seeing it here in questions LOL! Many thanks for making the change. I appreciate it. I have seen another reviewer I know actually hide her comment under a "spoiler" label that can then be clicked but who knows how to do that??

Interesting that you didn't regard it as a spoiler -- I guess as the author I'm especially sensitive. I've had other readers tell me that the creeping dread about what's going to happen has made the story a great read, so I guess knowing some of those elements in advance might "spoil" that part.

I'm happy with what you've done and good to have met you because of it :-)
