Marketing "Broken Rib Ranch" has left me very little time for writing. But with three chapters already completed, there are plans for a sequel.

Timothy Parsel You can receive some valuable feedback by joining a writer's group. Also, corner complete strangers and ask them to read snippets of your manuscript. (As opposed to asking family and friends who might be tempted to tell you only what they think you want to hear.)

Timothy Parsel These days I go for a walk with my dogs, which helps me clear my head. But it doesn't matter what the activity is, as long as I'm up moving around, rather than sitting at my desk, staring at a blank page.
Timothy Parsel For me, the idea came—after my wife had a semi-load of wild horses delivered to our ranch—without my knowledge. Having no other recourse, since I couldn't afford to leave her, I picked up a pen and began writing.
