What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Barbara Post-Askin How I fell in love and was married for 47 years.

Are you planning any other books in the near future? I enjoyed your memoir very much and would like to hear your perspectives on other issues that impacted life during the Great Depression and World War II.
Barbara Post-Askin Writing a book is easier said than done, and I think concentrating on "Reflections of Liberty" alone is enough for now. Writing a book takes a lot out of you. So for now, I'm focused just on "Reflections of Liberty."

In your opinion, how has the Internet changed the American workforce? Do you believe the Internet ultimately has helped or hurt American workers?
Barbara Post-Askin The Internet, from my standpoint, is the rumination of a nation or nations. People have lost their freedom because of the Internet. They can't think for themselves and are relying on computers to think for them. God gave each of us a brain, and if you don't use it, it will start to deteriorate. Today's kids don't play outside like they used to, and they don't know how to relate to each other as a result of the Internet. Also, there's no privacy any more because of the Internet.

What type of impact do you believe today's media has on Americans?
Barbara Post-Askin I feel like today's media doesn't really tell you what's going on in the United States. Instead, today's media just focuses on the same issues over and over. I feel like the media doesn't do the necessary research, either. And to get the real news about what's going on in the United States, I feel like you have to watch the news outside of the country.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Barbara Post-Askin I love to tell stories, and as I would share my stories with friends and family, my family began to tell me that I should write a book and journal my life’s experiences. Originally, it was for my grandkids, but now my circle of love has grown to encompass all young people in hopes of giving them wisdom for the future.

How do you get inspired to write?
Barbara Post-Askin My family is my biggest inspiration, second to my love for this country. I gain much of my energy from young people and all that they love and want to accomplish in life. Also, I have a deep passion for this country and all that it has to offer. I write in hopes of educating this generation and those that will come after it about their past and sharing with them the wisdom of yesterday. Only having an understanding of what once was will help to secure a future of what will be.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Barbara Post-Askin Write, write, write. Read, read, read. That may sound funny, but it’s the truth. We all learn from one another and as you read, your mind opens to things you’ve never thought of and as you write, you learn more about yourself and how to express yourself. If you do this consistently, you will only become more comfortable in your own skin as a writer.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Barbara Post-Askin Being able to share my heart and my wisdom with the world. To know that there might be something that I’ve experienced that can change the life of one person for the better. If I can do that, I’ve accomplished a lot.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Barbara Post-Askin Sometimes you have to take a step back and collect your thoughts. There are times when the words will flow and other times when it can be very difficult to find just the right thing to say and to stay consistent in the direction you want to go. So I tend to read or watch some television or find something that will take my mind completely off of the task at hand. This then allows me to come back with a clear mind and start fresh again.

I am glad you enjoyed my book signing in Tampa. Yes, we are currently planning our schedule for 2015. It looks like I will be in California sometime in July. I will follow up with you as soon as I have confirmation of the locations, dates and times.

What are you currently working on?
Barbara Post-Askin I am curently lining up dates for some book signings in the Tampa Bay Area (Florida). These book signings will take place for the months of September and October. I will be at Barnes and Noble, SPC College, Inkwood Books and several major libraries . I will post these, as dates are confirmed:)
My book is really taken off !
