Dharma Kelleher They did have some good chemistry. But it turns out that Shea has a new love interest (hinted at the end of Blood Sisters), so the two of them probably won't be getting back together any time soon.

I like Jessica a lot. In my mind, she's working down in Scottsdale and doing well. But you never know, she may show up again in one of my stories. And it may be in one of the Shea stories, or in a different series.
Dharma Kelleher Yes, there will be. I've just finished the rough draft. The title is ROAD RASH and it's already up for preorder at your favorite online bookseller.
Dharma Kelleher For starters, read a lot of crime thrillers from a wide range of authors. Familiarize yourself with the tropes, style, and structure. Then have fun with it. Let rough drafts be rough. You can always put clues and red herrings in later when revising.
Dharma Kelleher On the rare occasions that I experience writer's block, I usually am trying too hard to be perfect. Often I'm trying to edit when I should be writing.

When I get stuck, I let myself write garbage until better ideas surface. First drafts are going to suck. Let them suck. They're called rough drafts for a reason.
Dharma Kelleher Writing is a craft with many skills to master. Give yourself permission to suck, to quote Mur Lafferty. We all start out making many of the same mistakes. Be open to constructive criticism. And keep writing. The more you write, the better your writing will become.
Dharma Kelleher I don't seek inspiration. I have a compulsive need to tell stories and to create.
Dharma Kelleher My most recent book, EXTREME PREJUDICE, was inspired, in part, by the unsettling events that took place in Charlottesville, VA, specifically the white nationalist march and the enabling of bigotry and violence that resulted.

As a resident of Arizona, I could easily see something similar happening here. I wondered how Jinx Ballou, my bounty hunter protagonist, would react.
Dharma Kelleher Wow! That's a tough question. Most of my favorite characters aren't in a relationship, in part because most of what I read is crime fiction.

If I had to choose, I would go with Sookie Stackhouse and Eric Northman from Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire series.
