Dear Mr. Mark Mahon, I just received your wonderful Brian Boru - Freedom Within The Heart, all the way from Ireland! Wondeful! With a note too. I've read the first chapter. What made you write this about this particular historical person? As a child did you hear of his legend? Was there something about the land that spoke Brian Boru's essence wanting to be known? Mark Mahon Thank you. I've always been very proud of Ireland and indeed, our rich history. I heard about Brian Boru as a child in school and was immediately drawn to his story because of his struggles against foreign oppression. Upon further exploration, I found that the historical facts surrounding him were very vague and of course, as a writer I loved this because it allowed me to give my own interpretation of his journey.
