Elianne Adams Being a part of a series, the ideas just naturally flow. As I was writing Call of the Dragon, ideas would pop into my mind about Rise of the Phoenix, and Once Upon a Fiery Christmas. Now I'm working on the next book in the series, and again, it came to me as I was writing and day dreaming the books before. The characters come to life in my mind, and I want to make them all happy. Stay tuned.. Aiken and Mari's story is up next. You won't want to miss it.
Elianne Adams I don't know if there's one particular way I get inspired to write. It all depends on the story, and what the mood the particular scene is calling for. If I'm wanting to write a scene where the hero or heroine are going to be emotionally devastated, I listen to that kind of music. I love the song Say Something by A Great Big World to get me in the mood for that. If I'm writing a scene where everyone is happy and love is in the air, I like to have a bright room, curtains open, lights on if it's too overcast outside, and uptempo music playing in the background.
Elianne Adams Just write. Don't worry about all the other stuff. If you don't have a story, you don't have anything, so write.
Elianne Adams That's always tough, but the best answer I can give is.. I keep writing. Sometimes the words are garbage and end up being dumped but at least it keeps the creative juices from drying up to much until the "real" words come out again.
Elianne Adams The absolute best thing is the freedom to allow those crazy ideas running around in my head loose and see where the stories go. It's quite liberating.
Elianne Adams I actually have three projects on the table right now. Book two in the Return to Avalore series, Rise of the Phoenix is in the editing stage, an books three and 3.5 are in the writing stages. It's a very exciting time in Avalore.
