Chris Dungey Haven't had it seriously yet. I've been stuck on things, like how to arrive at a decent ending. But, haven't run out of ideas yet. Get out the Bukowski and see what events of a mundane, even subsistence life can be a 'story.' Sometimes I'll switch to poems for a short period.
Chris Dungey Seeing your work in print.
Chris Dungey You have to live first, and that may preclude much of what you want to write about. But don't write about something you don't know or haven't experienced (unless you're 'world-building').
Chris Dungey A long story with very few markets. It's about that incident in college when one of my apartment mates hosted a veteran returned from Viet Nam. He brought in some dope "Thai stick," from which I've taken my title. We all got baked to a vegetive state when we should have been studying for mids.
Chris Dungey Quite often by reading my favorite authors. But, realistically, I always want to have something new to read and then work on at Flint Area Writer's workshop.
Chris Dungey From an incident long ago in college.
