The ideas for 'Call of the Dove' have been brewing for a very long time. I wanted to share some things about West Virginia, the beautiful mountains where I spent so much time growing up. I wanted to share some things that helped shape the state's history. I've always wanted to travel west to Montana so I set my heroin on a journey, but for me, that wasn't enough. We all know in real life no one is perfect, we all carry scars of some kind, visible or not. We also know in reality there is rarely ever a brave knight in shining armor waiting to save the day. The heroin's journey became one of self discovery. She finds courage and strength in herself and the hero finds restraint and confidence and healing through love. I truly enjoyed writing this book and hope everyone who reads it does ,,too.

For me, inspiration can be found in some of the most insignificant things.

I step away from the manuscript for a while and try not to think, too, much about it. I find my best writing comes when ideas are not forced.

Today I celebrated the publication of The Angel's Bluff with a long nap :) I released the book yesterday, August 5th. After a little desk clearing, and maybe a week or two of catching up on sleep and housework, I'll begin the work on the third novel for this series.

Self motivation. Once you've decided you want to be a writer you'll also need to be prepared for countless setbacks, overwhelming discouragements, and sleepless nights. The worst thing will be the lack of support from some friends or even family who think writing is not important. You have to know what 'you' want and keep faith in yourself. Then It's all good!!! and more rewarding than you can imagine. Goals are good but don't expect to reach each one, just take baby steps and keep pushing forward. Take every day as it comes. Some days the words flow so fast you barely have time to catch them all, and some days you feel like you've fallen into the pit of darkness. If you want it bad enough you will get there, and when you do those negative friends or family members will see a brand new you.
