That's a tough one, but today I'd have to say Eve and Roark from the In Death series by JD Robb. They both have complex pasts and have still overcome everything to do and be better together than they were apart. Plus, they're just plain fun to read.

It came from the nursery rhyme and then Tyler quotes it in the book when he meets Julie's best friend Gustavia. I've always loved the picture of a woman with rings on her fingers and bells on her toes, she sounds like a free spirit, one who makes her own music.

I generally only get writer's block when I've screwed up something in the storyline. So, when I do get blocked, I go back over what I've written so that I can find where I went wrong. That usually does the trick.
