My most recent book that's currently on the shelves is called Meg Mitchell & the Secret of the Journal (written under the name Kimberly McNeil). It's actually the very first novel I ever wrote. I was 11 years old. And it's first story I told myself, the first adventure I created for my toys to experience when I was playing on the floor of our house in Texas.

Life inspires me to write. Everyone and everything has a story, and I always want to hear that story. And if nobody knows it, I want to write it.

The best advice I can give aspiring writers is to believe in yourself and your story. Believe strongly enough that no one can discourage you, but don't be stubborn about it. You can believe strongly in something without being needlessly stubborn. Learn what you can. Apply wisdom from people who have it. But don't ever give up on your dream.

The best way I've found to deal with writer's block is to go on a walk. I live in a very rural area, so usually a jaunt around the wheat field will get my brain back on track when it gets stuck in a rut.

The best part of being a writer is getting to share the worlds that only exist in my brain with other people, and when other people get excited about them too? Oh man, there's nothing better!

I am currently working on Book 2 of the Legend of the Lightkeepers series, under the pen name Kimberly McNeil. This exciting series is young adult epic urban fantasy. Book 1 released in March 2016, and Book 2 should be releasing in May 2017!
