Dea Schofield Vitaortus: Book Two, like it's precursor, came from a need (stemming from a sense of powerlessness) to give unlikely heroes a chance to save themselves and the planet from human choices. I wanted to couch a number of issues and themes within a fun genre--supernatural/vampire offered the greatest freedom, particularly from a panoramic historical view. An important feature was to incorporate the idea that fear can be a figment of ignorance and that a human life span doesn't always offer enough time to eradicate it. Another is that the popular perspective isn't necessarily the truth.
