Young people now grow up with the Harry Potter books; I grew up with Narnia. As a child, my friends and I wanted to find the wardrobe and enter Narnia. When I was in fifth grade, I even wrote C.S. Lewis a letter asking him how to get there, and was devastated to learn that he had died! Now, as an adult, I love entering into all fictional worlds when I read books. I couldn't possibly choose just one. I love inhabiting those worlds, living there for a time, leaving, going back to my life, and then entering a new world again. That's the real pleasure we readers have: we get to live so many lives!

When my husband and I bought our first house, we learned there had been a murder there in the 1930s. Who had committed the murder? What had happened? Should we buy the house? Was the victim's ghost still haunting the house? Those questions and the seed of that mystery was the tiny seed that became my third novel, GHOST MOTHER (forthcoming as of 2022).
