I deal with writer's block by focusing on something else for a while- watching TV, going to the park and taking photos, hanging out with friends. Instead of focusing on the story, I focus on the world around me. This usually helps trigger some ideas that I can go back and use in my writing.

Not just for aspiring writers- but for anyone who has a dream. Don't give up, no matter what life throws at you. If you have to wait to accomplish your goals- then wait. If you have to push through the mud- then push through. Life can be pretty rough sometimes, and definitely get in the way of accomplishing your dreams. I'm doing things with my life right now that I thought impossible when I graduated high school nearly six years ago. Some things just have to fall into place at the perfect time, and that's okay as long as you don't give up.

I am currently working on the second book in the Lothoria series, which takes place about a year after The Eternal One's ending. The Eternal One was written over 10 years ago, so I am pretty excited to finally be at a time in my life when I can work on its sequel.

The best thing about being a fiction writer, for me, is getting to bring life to characters and worlds that don't exist in reality. You can shape an entire universe to be whatever you want it to be. It's your creation, you give it life.

I absolutely loved reading as a child. My stepdad, Ward, introduced me to the Fantasy genre with books such as "The Hobbit" or "Lord of the Rings" when I was younger. Books are able to bring an entire world to life with nothing but words- when reading, you envision the characters and their surroundings. You journey with them. And my love for bringing these worlds to life was my inspiration when I began writing as a preteen.
