When I get stuck and it feels like the words are being pulled out of my head like thumbtacks instead of as a flow from the Universe, I close out of what I'm doing and open one of the other books I'm working on. Sometimes the change of genres and pace acts like a cool breeze and blows out some of the drudge. Other times, I do something that uses my body but not much of my brain-like pruning shrubs or washing the car. Not thinking about writing allows the words to flow.
