I spent the summer laid up with a broken ankle, so I actually wrote more than I read.
I'm currently reading an awesome spy book by my friend Drea Damara, "No Death for the Wicked," the sequel to "Chasing Vengeance." If you like strong female characters, this is the book for you.

Hi Tony!
Yes, Josh’s Challenge is in revisions right now.
Most recently published is a short story in the anthology The Whispered Tales of Grave Grove (proceeds to Reading is Fundamental). I have one more shorty due out soon, which is a prequel about Charlie (from Jason’s Princess), and still in the works are a full-length horror and two more romantic fictions.
It’s good to hear from you. How have you been?

"Stately dinners were notoriously delicious and tonight's was no exception. When I was replete, I retracted my fangs and let the senator's corpse fall to the floor."

I was interviewed by a terrific book blogger, The Graduated Bookworm a while back. The amazing Morgan asked this very same question and here is my answer from back then...
"Have you ever seen High Fidelity with John Cusack? It’s impossible to name just one couple so here’s my “Top Five SHIPS” in no particular order:
Travis and Abbey - Walking Disaster by Jaime McGuire (Note that it’s Travis’s story that I like better. We get to know the Maddox brothers in more detail in this book. Plus, that beautiful butterfly tattoo on the cover.)
Christian and Ana - Yeah, I’m a Fifty Shades junkie. Don’t judge me.
Jeremy and Dani - A Loving Scoundrel by Johanna Lindsey. Old school, I know but, damn, I was in love with Jeremy. Until…James and Georgina - Gentle Rogue. I used to love me some bodice rippin’. Both are part of Lindsey’s Malory series.
Dare and Molly - When You Dare by Lori Foster. She’s one of my favorite authors. Her “ships” are amazing and most of her books are filled with intrigue.
Okay, I’ll add a sixth couple to my “top five”… Kellen and Kiera - The whole Thoughtless series, really. I don’t usually care for love triangles but
S. C. Stephens did a fantastic job with the reality of cheating. It’s never one person’s fault and it hurts a lot. They had to learn to trust each other and I’m a fan of that.
There are a lot more that I could mention, but you get the gist. I could’ve added Sookie Stackhouse to the list, but she’s kind of a slut and didn’t stick with just one guy. Out of all her lover-boys, Eric Northman (the literary version, at least) is my favorite. He’s just so … BAD."

Hi Daisy! Thank you for reading about the King Brothers and I'm so happy you liked the books.
Yes, I'm currently working on Josh's story now. I'm hoping to get him in your hands by early spring 2017.

Hi Morgan! I'm glad you enjoyed JP and thank you for your kind words. I took a gamble putting it out there for the masses without hiring an editor, so saying that it was beautifully written means a great deal to me.
I wasn't joking in my bio; truly, I was messing around with a writing program on my Mac when JP started forming on my screen. So I can't say that I consciously decided to become a writer. However, once I started writing this story I couldn't stop. I signed up for writing workshops and classes while I was completing JP and I am attending my first conference in March in southern California.
I'm currently working on Jarod's Heart, but this time I will hire an editor. I've recently quit my day job, which is a huge no-no, so that I can get Jarod and Lauren's story in your hands as soon as possible. I also have a couple of other ideas floating around. Hopefully the King Brothers is only the beginning for me as a writer.
Congratulations on winning the contest! It was fun for me watching how that progressed too. And thank you for liking Jason's Princess, and please feel free to contact me on any of my social networks or here on GoodReads :)
Sincerely,
Elise

There's no real answer to this. For me, when my muse is stuck or just needs to refuel, I let her. I take a break, whether it's fifteen minutes or fifteen days. (I've never had to wait fifteen days, thank goodness!) Usually, walking away from the problem and coming back later helps me see the problem in a different light. The problem usually means I need to either revamp the scene, go in a different direction or cut it all together. Either way, the block is gone and I can move forward. Getting frustrated or worrying it like a dog with a bone never helps so I try to relax and let go.

Since I'm an aspiring writer too, and am pretty new to this whole process, my only advice is ... WRITE!
Finish your story and share it with others.
The rest will fall into place.

I am currently working on the second book in the King Brothers series, "Jarod's Heart". This is Lauren and Jarod's story and the timeline follows almost immediately after Jason's Princess. Jarod will struggle with being a young sheriff in his small, rural town and the meth problem that has plagued his life and career. Lauren will, of course, help him through all of that because she has loved him for as long as she can remember...even when he was married! (Which he no longer is, of course)

This is a tough one for me because I literally was playing around with a new app. The boating scene in the beginning of Jason's Princess had more to do with my own memories as a child than anything else. I wanted to weave it into a romance somehow because that's was a read for the most part. The rest sort of fell into place on its own.
