John Joyce 'Masterpiece' was inspired many years ago by a visit to The Louvre in Paris, by standing in front of the Mona Lisa behind its bullet proof glass casing and wondering . . . "How could a person every STEAL that . . ?"

To find out how . . . read MASTERPIECE!
John Joyce I listen to music, read for travel. The energy I find in airports and planes is a great inspiration for writing. Some of the best ideas I've had have been recorded in my notebooks with a propelling pencil during plane trips abroad.
John Joyce I am currently working on "Mastermind" the sequel to my last novel "Masterpiece" which again involves the characters Damien Flynn and Gabrielle Arnault of EUROPOL's Committee on European Techno-Terrorism (COMMETT) - this time in a plot to take over computer systems all over Europe.
John Joyce As a great author once said - "A writer is a person who writes!"

So don't just sit there - start writing.
John Joyce I think that, for a man, the nearest he can come to the joy of actually giving birth to a child is to hold the first printed copy of his latest book in his hand.

I also love those moments during the writing of a book when the muse takes over and all you are doing is to transcribe the scenes that 'she' gives you into the word processor as faithfully as you can. Time stands still during those times, as you are transported into the world of the book . . . Wonderful!
John Joyce By writing about the first thing that comes into my head for 45 minutes every day in a hardback notebook with a beautiful fountain pen that my wife Jane got me for my 50th birthday. This discipline, which I've been following for the last twenty years or so, shows me that I CAN write every day if I REALLY want to. Then, once I know THAT, the trick with tackling 'Writer's Block' as it relates to an ongoing book project is to relax and let the creative forces flow - even if they are not flowing in the direction you need them to - they will always give you the answers you want eventually. I also find that listening to 'soundtracks' of music I've created for the project I'm working on helps a great deal too.
