You can learn so much these days on-line. This saves time. So many mistakes that I and other writers have made can now be avoided by careful research. If self-published, the rewards are only earned from hard graft! If you have a publisher, don't expect them to do much to make you a best-seller. It can and may happen but for most mere mortals, the heavy lifting in marketing is mainly down to you.
