John W. Partington Yes... A narcissistic celebrity becomes President of the world's last remaining super-power nation. Two hundred years of history is undercut by ill conceived personal agenda; anybody who objects is fired.
John W. Partington I would go to the world of Earth Delta-Four in my upcoming story: Jake & Chearice: Cell Phone Conspiracy, where I would be a Project Officer in the Department of Inter-Dimensional Affairs. I've been working in government too long not to take that as a choice. I would like to think that I could go to Weiss and Hickman's Dragon Lance and be a great warrior, but really all I do is push paper and write stories.
John W. Partington I was a soldier for 15 years and saw some things I cannot explain, have repressed, or can't deal with. The mystery is, despite my psychotic trauma illness and PTSD, how I manage to function as well as I do. I have nightmares every night, am medicated, and self medicated (drink). Some of these themes are explored in my upcoming story - Jake & Chearice: Cell Phone Conspiracy.
John W. Partington I switch projects. The best way to deal with writer's block is to write, something completely different, but write none the less. Establish a routine if you don't have one, break up your routine if you do have one.
John W. Partington Creating new worlds and allowing others to explore them.
John W. Partington Don't give up, but don't expect to pay the bills with writing for quite a while (like years). I know some very successful writers who took 14 years to launch their careers to the point where they could only write.
John W. Partington Soft core science fiction with a twist of romance and humour. My editing team also has a 600+ page epic fantasy they are working on.
John W. Partington It's like breathing. It's just something to do, anytime, anywhere. I find I probably write more than I should and the mundane things in life are what bring me back to this world.
John W. Partington I was in college, the Professional Writer Program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, and it was part of a course to write the first fifty pages of a story. I was describing homonyms for food: eggs = chicken fruit, when it occurred to me that a simple slip of language could create confusing, and wouldn't it be interesting if Redcale were looking for the wrong thing.
