I get up and walk away for awhile. If that doesn't work, a really large mallet to the forehead helps. Providing I can remember my own name afterwards.

Creativity. I love doing creative things. Puzzles, drawing (I am terrible but still do it), coding, photography, etc. Its a lot of fun to come up with a world, and write the rules of life in that world. Then seeing where your own imagination will take you.

Write because you enjoy it. Write because you have a story to tell. In the modern day book business unless you are Stephen King or J.K. Rowling its not likely you will get rich as author. Even if you don't think your story is all that good, you may surprise yourself. To be honest, we wrote the first two books without actually intending to publish them. But enough friends and family liked it we decided to give it a shot.

As of 2019, we are working on the first book in a new series. If it fully comes to fruition, it will take place in the M'atoi/Earth universe, and a character or two from the other series MIGHT pop in for a visit.

Our book series Magic Returns which is my first series really was inspired by several things. My love of urban fantasy, and an idea I had about portals to other lands. Combined with my writing partners love of a good mystery. And dragons. It always comes down to dragons.
