Ava Armstrong Deep Blue Truth came about as I sat in a diner and watched patrolmen doing their duties, which are never easy. The diner is located on a busy corner where homeless veterans are plentiful, yet people drive by ignoring them. That was the kernel of the story.
Ava Armstrong Always wanted to write since I can remember. As a child, I created books complete with drawings and stapled them together. Kids in the neighborhood read them! Once I left corporate America, on my own terms, I planned my writing career. I had no idea it would take off as it did.
Ava Armstrong Writing a thriller, it will be Book #5 in the Dark Horse Guardians Series. The series is about Lieutenant Ben Keegan, a former Navy SEAL, who becomes a private contractor and brings his band of brothers with him. Oh yes, it's a thriller AND a romance. His wife, Lara, is a bad-ass warrior in her own right. Exciting for men and women to read!
Ava Armstrong Sit down and decide what genre you want to write, i.e. romance, fantasy, thriller, horror, -- then read a lot of authors in that genre. For example, if you want to write romance -- there are sub genres, such as erotica, Christian, sweet and sexy -- you need to have some parameters. Then go for it!
Ava Armstrong I completely get lost in writing -- lose track of time and forget to eat. I love it.
Ava Armstrong Usually I listen to music or view pictures that pertain to my story. My recent novel, The Last Cowboy, is about a young man struggling to keep the last family owned dairy farm. It helped me to look at photos of milking cows and an idea for a scene occurred to me -- I saw a photo of a beautiful baby calf just born!
