My most recent release is 'Blood & Soul' a story about a traveling exorcist. It's a ghost story with lots of steamy angsty scenes. It's a little dark, lots of sexy, and I got the idea while watching 'Hemlock Grove' on Netflix. Which is weird because there are no exorcists or ghosts or any of that in that show. I just liked the two male leads and slowly in my head I built two characters kind of out of their likenesses and they become my characters for B&S, Chase and Lysander.

I get inspiration in the weirdest places...I have vivid, crazy dreams that I turn into stories. Sometimes I'll just get an idea while I'm in the shower, or when I'm driving to the grocery store. I wish I could say that I have this intricate process of coming up with ideas by using the web association method or by jotting things down, but really sometimes it just comes to me.

I am working on a lot of things, but the one that will likely get published next is a book I'm calling 'The Gemini Prince.' It's a story with bi-gendered issues mingled in with my normal romance. It's more fantasy than paranormal, which is new. It's about a prince who was born bi-gendered. He feels most comfortable identifying as both male and female/man and woman. In his society this is a spiritual identification as well as a social and biological construct. He wants to make a pilgrimage and start a transition to becoming recognized as bi-gendered. However, none of his family support this decision. The King, the Queen, his wife...they all want the next king to remain a man in the eyes of the kingdom. To me this is a very powerful story about coming out, about transitioning, and about trying to be who you feel you are inside even when there is no one standing behind you.

Write. Keep writing. Never stop writing. And it's ok to cry about it. Even my best stuff could scarcely be considered 'successful' on a grand scale, but that's not really what it's all about. Focus on that one reader. If you have at least one person that has said to you 'wow, I really enjoyed that' then you're doing something that only a select few people have done.

Working in my pajamas. No seriously; I like to create things that others enjoy. When someone actually recognizes something that I have written and can make the statement 'I like this and this' or 'I <3 that character!' it's just the best warm fuzzy.

Music, reading, going out to eat...generally anything other than just sitting and staring at a blank page. If something isn't coming out, forcing it isn't likely to help. I usually take a break and then come back to it later, read through what I had before and see if I have a fresh perspective.
