A book outlining ways that have been successful in promoting sustainable living; for residents, local government and utilities. Politicians take note.

We need to realise that being able to string good sentences together isn't enough. Even good spelling and grammar isn't enough. Persistence and attention to detail aren't enough. Maybe there are intuitive aspects as well as skills that can be learned with practice. I don't know yet if I've mastered writing enough to give any other advice.

Feelings, passion. These really motivate me.

I simply lived it, vividly. I thought if I write this true but improbable account of what happened to me in search of my dream, I could help others avoid some of the dark moments I've had.
I've always had a passion for France, it's in my genes, but realising my dream was so much harder than I ever imagined. I did research on France before my move but what I found didn't prepare me for the day-to-day details, and I could not have predicted some of the things that happened to me.
Most of the books in my sub-genre tell stories about Britons renovating old chateaux and gites or Americans falling in love with a French man and then moving to France, or others experimenting with France on a short-term basis. There are also the light-hearted books that use stereotypes for humour. My experience was completely different. I wanted to show readers that following your heart, your passion, your dream, might not necessarily give you the results you were hoping for.

I love being able to share my thoughts and feelings with others. Sometimes that enables a personal connection between others who have similar experiences and thoughts and we all enjoy that. I've met some wonderful people because they've seen my writing and contacted me.

I keep writing until it comes right. That might include writing posts for my blog http://francesbigadventure.blogspot.com or revising content on my book website. Sometimes it's a good idea to just leave a piece of writing, go do something else like working in the garden, and then come back to it.
