Carlos McCrary and Victoria Ramirez. Chuck and Vicky are "friends with benefits" that show up is several of my Carlos McCrary mystery/thrillers. They have a respectful, affectionate personal relationship, without being possessive. Vicky is always there for Chuck when things go south emotionally. Chuck will continue to seek a long-term relationship to build a family, but even if he succeeds in finding a wife and mother for his future children, Vicky will always be his friend.
