Arpan Panicker There are times when you want to read a particular kind of story. You search high and low, near and far and just can't find anything like it. But you know that it's an incredible story. If you're a writer, you can actually tell that story yourself... Get it out there so others can realize what an incredible tale it is.
Arpan Panicker Write! As much as possible and as often as you can. Don't judge your first drafts, just wrote them. Have fun writing them. You can look for reviews, opinions and validation later. The trick is to write a lot and then sift through the drafts for the gems that are ready for polishing.
Arpan Panicker Honestly, for me, writing is like a highly addictive habit. I just have to write or withdrawal sets in and I get very cranky. Inspiration comes often and fast and it's just a matter of jotting down writing to-dos as quickly as they come to you. Plus writing enough to actually get all this ideas out!
Arpan Panicker I'm working on the second book in the Way of the Word series... Wordscapist: The Legend. I'm also building a pitch for a graphic novel version of the Wordscapist books.
Arpan Panicker I write my stories in fragmented segments, ensuring that each segment has a different tone with very different kinds of events and narrative. This helps me pick the best segment to write at any point and prevents me from getting stuck for long periods of time. The days when I just can't write, I research and daydream.
Arpan Panicker I have always believed in the incredible power of words and how they shape our perception of reality. When I fell in love with the fantasy genre, there really was only one story to tell... And that's where the Wordscapist comes from.
