I get inspired to write by listening to others as they tell me an incredible story of creating a WOW (whether it was inspired by one of my books or programs, or by someone else). It restores my faith in all people, and causes me to want to share those lessons learned, inspiring stories, and real tools to help them thrive and prosper.

The best thing about being a writer is being able to share ideas and tools to help people think differently and then actually apply new lessons to make their lives and their workplaces better. It's the most rewarding thing (besides speaking and training) that I've ever done!

An online leadership coaching program based on my book, Turn Your Workplace Into a WOWplace! It will have a workbook, daily lessons, audio and video lessons and reminders, case studies, tools, templates, tips and suggestions... a program that will help people really master the leadership and service lessons contained in the book... and give them a daily focus, inspiration and method to practice those skills in order to master them more quickly.

Tune into topics that make your mind start reeling, then write or record those thoughts as soon as possible so you don't lose them. I always think to myself, "Oh, that's so great, I don't have to write it down... I'll remember it!" And then when I go to use it, I say, "Oh, no! What was I thinking? How did I say it? I can't believe I did forget it!" (Sometimes, I don't forget the actual thought, but I forget a great way I thought about it - something really memorable - and that memorable way to write or say it is what I really don't want to lose.

I read other people's blogs, articles and written materials on my topic of interest. I also watch videos. As I engage my mind with new thoughts and information, it sparks my creativity and opinions on the topic, which then motivates me to write on that topic. Because I'm passionate about my topic, those articles ALWAYS spark some kind of reaction... LOL! And that helps me write.

I got the idea from my own experiences in the workplace, and from my travels, as I heard from many people who had great ideas they wanted to share, or who had burning desires to be more valued at work... but they didn't feel valued, appreciated or listened to. So, I took the best ideas I've seen over many years and put them into a book that outlines the top 5 "traits" of workplaces and leaders who WOW others.
