Lourie Nolan My most recent book is a the final installment in series 2 of The Deep End.. the story of Shelly and Dave. Their story grew from series 1... the story of Dakota and Nicole. There are three more couples and a villain to chronicle before The Deep End is completed.
Lourie Nolan Memories. There is some reality in every character in my books. Some of it is me... some of it is other people. As long as I keep it tinged with reality, I never run out of inspiration.
Lourie Nolan The Deep End, Part 10.

The first installment in the story of Justin and Kirsten.
Lourie Nolan Just don't force it. If it doesn't come flowing out of you naturally... it isn't going to be any good anyway. Let a story be as long as it needs to be... but no longer than it takes to actually tell the story. Your readers are smart. They can spot filler and most would rather not waste their time reading about how many distinct colors were in a sunset on a particular day of the week when they could be reading substance.
Lourie Nolan When I see that someone I don't know is reading my work. When I check and see sales or even free downloads from places where I don't know anyone... and I know someone is reading a book of mine... and then they download the 2nd volume... then the 3rd... and I know they are enjoying the details I created in my own head. That's the best high.
Lourie Nolan When I get to a block I stop writing. I never force a book. Everything I have ever written that was forced ended up being deleted once I got my head back into it. I've never published anything that was forced. If I have to give it a lot of thought... I'm not going to be happy with it anyway.

For me, blocks are usually broken right before I go to sleep. There is nothing to do but lay in a dark quiet room and think... and that's when it all becomes clear.
