Leona Ryder I have several short stories in the works and I'm planning to write another novel this year...on top of doing several modern art paintings and writing a little music here and there.
Leona Ryder Write anything and everything. Don't worry about what comes out, just keep pushing. Even if it's not good, you can always edit later. In fact, I highly recommend saving editing until you are finished with a particular project. The hardest, and most important part, is getting the story out. Good, bad, ugly, all of it.
Leona Ryder Gaining clarity and pushing the gunk out of my brain.
Leona Ryder I run headfirst into the brick wall preventing words from forming sentences. The thing that works best for me is to just start writing anything. I could be writing about my mundane day or even nonsensical topics that have no basis in reality, but those thoughts and feelings always open something else up. Sometimes it just takes a bit of priming.
Leona Ryder Most of the time I don't. Writing is something that takes quite a bit of effort for me. I have a lot of ideas and I want to explore them, but actually sitting down and writing it all out is hard. My personal inspiration in writing comes from putting in some sacrificial paragraphs or pages, and only then will the inspiration hit and writing becomes much easier and free flowing.
Leona Ryder It actually came out of this group of thoughts I had while watching a TV show examining these ancient cave paintings. I don't remember exactly what the show was talking about, but the scientists investigating the site had trouble figuring out who was responsible for the art and the exact time period they were created. I had the thought that it will be awesome when time travel or time viewing is possible because we can just look back and see who did it. In fact there may be entire groups of people who specialize in investigating and documenting history. Thus, the idea for this story...and several others I'm working on ;).
