Jennifer Carr There are actually several answers to this question for me.

1. Obviously, Hogwarts. That is probably my favorite fictional world as it is so well developed and alluring.

2. Narnia. And I mean Narnia from the beginning, the middle, and the end. I want to see it formed and remade.

3. Isle of Adari. This is not a world you've heard of, yet. But it's one I have been creating for a year now. I've obviously spent a lot of time here and I look forward to spending more time there in the near future!
Jennifer Carr By nature I am an observer so there is always a chance that whatever is happening around me is inspiring me. On multiple occasions my imagination has been triggered by a song.
One book idea came from a conversation I had with my daughter that involved a play on words. Within minutes I had a synopsis and a working title in my Notes app.
Another idea came from a trip to the symphony.
If you keep your eyes, ears, and mind open, inspiration will follow!
Jennifer Carr Getting to live inside my imagination. I've ALWAYS been a daydreamer and playing pretend was very art imitating life for me as a child. Overthinking is par for the course for me, so to be able to squirrel away by myself and let my mind go wild for hours at a time is wildly therapeutic.
Jennifer Carr The electricity flashed. She hadn't saved any of her work for at least twenty-four hours.
Jennifer Carr Just start writing. Then, invest in a GOOD editor and build a relationship with them. THEN, let people read your writing and accept their feedback graciously and take to heart what you need and thank them for the rest.
Jennifer Carr I do administrative stuff - social media posting, book reviews, marketing, etc.

I read

I stare at the computer screen for hours at a time

I scroll TikTok for far too long
Jennifer Carr I have two works currently in progress that I vacillate between depending on which story is playing out in my head.

One of them is the follow-up to No Matter What - it still needs a title but it's a little over halfway to completion.

The other one is a stand alone Adult Fiction titled Fall When You're Ready. It's about 3/4 to completion.
