Trixie Archer My advice is simple: to follow your heart, to follow your passion for writing and to use criticism to your advantage. If someone critiques your work in an unkind manner, use it to fuel your determination and work towards making your words sing! We are all unique and no one has ever quite seen the world through your eyes before. Let the world know your perspective...let them hear your voice...show no fear. Is your voice shrill? Does it harmonize? Does it soar above the loud cities? Does it intrigue? Does it promote happiness? If you can find that special way that is "only you," the rest will all sort of fall into place.
Trixie Archer I'm currently working on a novel regarding Dora's twin sister Laura. It's written in the time frame prior to the first book "Falling Whispers" and offers more insight into the dynamic that Dora grew up in. In addition, it enhances her connection to Carmen because we learn who she was before the trip to Whispering Falls. It's part two in a four book project and I visualize each story as a link on a chain. Each link is enclosed in a full circle and yet interlocks with the chain before. In the end we will have a better picture surrounding all characters with greater depth and understanding as a whole unit. I really enjoy writing about the complexities of relationships...and truly enjoy drawing stories with words. I'm really proud of "Falling Whispers" and hope that I can maintain an interesting storyline while creating book 2.
Trixie Archer The best aspect of being a writer is simple, I become a shape-shifter, hopping into and out of characters. Writing enables me to consider a variety of perspectives, offers me insights and the ability to act in a way that may be in conjunction to who I am or in total opposite. Today I may be writing about someone who is down and out, tomorrow I may be inside the mind of a character that has great luck and fortune. The sky is the limit!
Trixie Archer I find inspiration through music, other times through real life experiences but specifically when I feel frustration in the world around me, I use my writing as an emergency hatch so as to step into another dimension. Unlike in real life, writing offers me ultimate control over the journey and the ending. It is and has always been of great comfort to me.

The BIGGEST inspiration is when something I've written brings on a smile, fills the reader's eyes with emotion or better yet, challenges an audience to consider the other side of the story so as to change their viewpoint. Words have enormous power and that in itself is a great motivation to use them for the better good.
