Did you know you can download cover pix for the books on here which don't have any? You have a lot listed.n

Dawn Knox Thanks Alan, no, I didn't know you could but I've done it now! Just waiting for one cover which hopefully will be out shortly. I didn't realise you could put in books which you have stories in - I thought you could only upload details of books for which you were the single author. I didn't upload the ones with multiple authors, including me, they seemed to simply appear!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Dawn Knox I joined a writers' group in 2014 and one of the writing prompts was a list of about 20 unrelated items. We had to pick ten items and include them in the story, so I wrote about a garden, with elves and garden gnomes. I loved the characters so much that when I received the next writing prompt, I tried to use that with the same characters and setting. After about five stories in the garden, the members of the group suggested I put them together in a book and I put aside the story I was working on to continue with more gnome antics in the garden. I now have about 28,000 words, so I have a way to go but I'm so enjoying it!

What are you currently working on?

Dawn Knox A story called 'Her Ladyship's Private Parts'. It's a story about the chaotic world of garden gnomes.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Dawn Knox Write. Read. Write. Write again. Just keep going and don't give up despite what anyone says although consider their comments, they may have a point. My first published story was a surprise as I was asked to write a horror story and as I don't read horror nor watch horror films, I thought it was unlikely that it would be accepted for the horror anthology. But it was and it is now in 'Shrouded by Darkness' a collection of horror stories, including a story by Neil Gaiman. So, never give up!
