I loved "Girl Underwater"! Did you interview someone who had experienced something similar to what Avery and Colin went through?

Claire Kells Thanks, Veronica! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I've spoken with people who survived traumatic experiences, mostly having to do with their time in the military. Their stories really helped to inform the emotions that Avery and Colin experienced in the wake of the crash.

Claire Kells Thanks, Tanya! I'm working on another book that I think will appeal to fans of Girl Underwater. I can't say much about it because I'm not yet sure if it will be published - we'll see! I'm so appreciative of all the readers who have spread the word and/or posted reviews about the book - those things really help a debut author build an audience.

I see you are speaking at Books In in S.F. -- Are you scheduled to com to the South Bay? Hicklebee's in Willow Glen? The Village Book Store in Los Gatos? Books Inc. in either Palo Alto or Mt. View?
