So many! I have Melanie Dickerson's Regency Spies series on my to-read list for this summer. I have a few individual books I would also like to read this summer, such as a book on prayer. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Because God told me to, I guess. I wasn't expecting to write a romance, but looking back it is one of the best choices I made, to listen and obey God when He asked me to write Riches and Glory. I was worried about what people thought, that perhaps I was a lovesick teenager, but God refined in me His character through it. And I've actually come to appreciate romances more now! Which do I prefer? I don't know that I really prefer either one, it is like comparing apples to oranges. Just doesn't work. I really read both, too. No favorites here!

God using my writings to encourage, uplift and teach people. Also it gives me the platform to encourage other people to write!

Well, I get ideas for books all the time. Often while I'm working on another story. So, I don't drop that story, I simply write the idea down and stick it in a folder I have for stories. When I am in need for a new story idea, I go to my trusty folder and look for a good one. I pray during my search and God led me to this one, Brood of Vipers. I had a different name for it at the time, I believe it was Ghost town or Bloodshot, but God changed it later on to Brood of Vipers. So, where do my ideas come before I put them in the folder? Simple. God.

I read. I look at all my outlines and notes I have for the current story. If none of that works then I ask God "should I be trying to write this?" (Of course I'm praying about it beforehand and throughout, He gives me the ideas after all, but if it just isn't flowing there is a good chance that's God's way of saying "stop. listen.") Believe it or not I have actually dropped entire books (some of them I had even almost finished!) because God desired for me to start another book. I believe with my most recent "dropped" book, part of the Willow Tree Series, God desires to go back to it, however it just wasn't the right timing for it right then. He desired for me to start on Brood of Vipers, which I have already finished. I am not sure if the next book will be this dropped book or not, but I feel there is a good book there, and it will not be wasted, I feel God is saying.

Seek God, and just sit down and start writing. Practice. Then think of story/book ideas. Got a good one? Outline your "plan" for the book. How many chapters. The content of each chapter (what I mean by that is just a brief summary of each chapter, major events that take place, etc.), character names, etc. Then pray about it. Then just sit down and start! Remember you don't have to follow your "outline" exactly, it can be flexible. But it is a great tool in case of writer's block.

I read. A lot. I read the Bible, I read books in the same genre, I listen to stories of writers, and actually I read my reviews. It gets me excited, and fuels my passion. As well as just ask God for more material.
