Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
J.M. Hofer My books have all grown from the seeds that were planted in my imagination as a child and young adult. Those seeds were the Chronicles of Narnia, Greek, Norse, and Celtic Mythology, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, the Chronicles of Prydain, the Mists of Avalon, Arthurian Legend, and Iron Age history.

How do you get inspired to write?
J.M. Hofer This is a perpetual state-of-being for me.

What are you currently working on?
J.M. Hofer I'm working on the finishing touches to Book II in the Islands of the Mist series, Across the Sea. It's scheduled for release just before the holidays. Very excited!

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
J.M. Hofer Just sit down and write. Write whatever comes to mind. The stories will come.
