V.A. Manning I usually have multiple projects going, so when I get stuck on one, I go to another. If all of them are blocked, I just sit back, watch a movie or show, and see if I can't figure it out. I also write short stories, poetry, fanfictions - I usually just keep writing through writers block, on whatever comes to mind.
V.A. Manning I am able to do whatever I want in my books. Very few laws can stop me, and even those that can, when done correctly, are capable of being broken. I can murder whoever I want, I can defy physics, I can create my own worlds. Being a writer feels like being God, in a sense. I am a Creator, a God, of my own world (s).
V.A. Manning Write. Just do it. Don't worry about outlining, editing, mapping, character sketches... Just write. Get it out. And don't stop writing. With the new world of self-publishing being so amazing and popular, and easy, dare to break the conventional rules. Don't worry about "Will this sell?" "Is this the right topic?" Just do it. Research if you have to.

Oh, and read as much as you can, all the time. Read to your kids, your cat, yourself - just read.
V.A. Manning Most of the time I just sit down and stare at a blank page until something comes up... There are times that pictures, either photographs or digital art, inspire me to create a story line, and even songs, shows, books, and movies have been known to inspire me to write my own works.
V.A. Manning "Paint it Black" is currently in beta-mode right now, but my other projects include a high-fantasy inspired piece, a young adult piece about witches, and a piece I have been working on for 14 years!
V.A. Manning I was at work listening to Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones, and a scene just sort of hit me in the face. That scene is what started the basic concept of the book "Paint it Black". It is what helped me to create the skeletons of the characters - my SO helped to flesh them and the story out later on.
