Becky Villareal Thank you for the question, Gail. I don't really focus on one era because family history can be so vast. What I do is take someone in the present day and help them find out about their ancestors. It's like what I do as a family genealogist. It creates quite a story! Good luck with your writing.

Becky Villareal My mother never knew about her family and so, as the family genealogist, I have made it my mission for the last ten years to find out as much as I could about her family. Becky Villareal I pray and relax and let my mind wander from time to time. When I am too busy, the inspirations don't come. Sometimes they come back as a "what if" and when they do I jot them down. Always, always, always keep a pen and pad close by or you will end up writing down things and accidentally throwing them away.
Becky Villareal A follow-up to my book that's out now "Gianna the Great".
Becky Villareal You have to keep believing in yourself. Have a vision of where you want to go with your writing. Then you can make it come true. Don't forget how many writers were turned down the first time - many famous ones!
Becky Villareal The best thing about being a writer is knowing that characters in your stories are created out of your own mind.
