I'm not sure about any mysteries, but my experience as a federal prosecutor and the cases I handled there influence my writing everytime I sit down at the keyboard. I am currently working on a sequel to Deep White Cover, my ATF undercover series. This book, Deep Green Cover, involves infiltration of a radical environmental group that has adopted the tactics of the jihadists. The story was inspired by real life cases involving the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) and their sister organization the Animal Liberation Front (ALF). Of course, the fictional version takes things to the next level.

Another novel in the Deep Cover series with ATF Special Agent David Ward. In Deep Green Cover Ward goes undercover in an eco-terrorist movement. The story is based, to a degree, on the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) and a series of attacks they perpetrated over the course of a decade. Of course, the group in Deep Green Cover is even more radical, and deadly.

Keep it at. This takes perseverance and a few bad efforts to hone your skills. Read good writers. Listen for what makes their voice unique and then develop a voice that is totally your own.
