My most recent book, THE LONG WEEKEND came from my love of the dynamics of how committed couples face life together.... in this case they are mature and have found each other and are trying to balance their lives together. It helps that he is a mystery writer and ex private detective, and she is a nurse who happens to be incredibly wealthy..... everyone needs a break every now and then, and Sam and Scarlett try, but adventure just won't let them be.

Mostly I use illustrations, photographs and paintings. I collect the ones that 'speak' to me and away I go. Every illustration has a story in it but some are special.
Novels are different. I see my characters and I give them a problem to solve and the rest just flows around them. My characters have stories to tell and I look forward to hearing those stories.

I don't get writer's block. I sometimes have to think about the direction that a story will take but there is never a time when I don't have a story that needs writing.

Because short stories are my passion. I have written a non-fiction book and a fiction novella, but I keep coming back to short stories. I love the 'slice of life' feel. I enjoy the challenge of hooking the reader and delivering characters that he/she can care about coupled with an 'interesting' ending. I find it perplexing that other writers are daunted by this medium............ I love it.
I have discovered that I have readers in all parts of the world who enjoy my stories. Like any writer, I would like to reach as many readers as possible and publishing a collection of stories is the best way to achieve this.
