A number of years ago I took Mah Jongg lessons with a group of friends - including my co-author, Gregg - and soon I realized that I wanted to play with a vintage set rather than the new sets made of plastic. After doing some research I was able to find a woman who sells exactly what I was seeking. After buying my first set, I was hooked and started collecting more old Mah Jongg sets. As I became a Mah Jongg collector it didn't take long to realize that there are scores and scores of how-to-play books on Mah Jongg but not even one coffee table book showcasing these magnificent older sets. And, as they say, the rest is history...
