Our daily Bible reading plan at the church I attend focused on the Bible's Wisdom Literature for an entire year. It was a most rewarding and enlightening year in God's word, and I had to share some of my perspective and the enrichment that God granted me in that experience.

I never really started out with the intention of writing a book. I started blogging and it just happened. I have always wanted to be an author, though, and that part of me just finally found its way out in the open.

I am working on two more Bible-based books that I am very excited about because I have been working on them for some time now. I will be publishing one this fall. The other will likely be in January 2015. But I have entered the "discovery" phase of a novel of historical fiction, based on a true story. This is a completely new venture and uncharted territory for me, so I am learning a lot as I go. It is very much another labor of love, though.

Write. Write often. Write everyday. When you don't know what else to do, write some more. But you must read also. If you are not reading other authors' work, you are going to go stale.

I think the nest part is when you are on a roll -- it becomes like a fast moving train. When those times happen, there is nothing like it. The story tends to take over, and often "tells itself." That is exciting!

For me, it is never really block. It is just being in the wrong frame of mind. A long walk outdoors is my cure for many ills. Relax and talk to God for a while, and I am refreshed.
