G.A. Cuddy The possibility that, in some infinitesimal manner, one's words will have a positive effect on another human being--if only for an instant--makes being a writer worthwhile. Even if it only happens once.
G.A. Cuddy I contemplate drinking heavily, but I usually just choose a documentary instead.
G.A. Cuddy I'm not really sure where my inspiration comes from. I have to be in the right mood and in the right location. It takes a lot of discipline. For much of my life, I did not have that requisite dedication. Now, I feel more confident in my ability to develop storylines and characters. It's not always easy. I get inspired by thinking about the people that matter to me in life. Also, my daydreams tend to lead me on the path of creativity.
G.A. Cuddy I've had the outline for First Fiction on my mind for many years, but could never really formulate the progression of the tale in a manner that I liked. Finally, I was able to cultivate the character of Ingrid Fallon--the heroine--by combining the attributes of two women that have had major influences on my life. It all came together after that. My interest in Irish history and politics certainly influenced the historical fiction aspects of the manuscript. I wanted to craft a page-turner for readers. Hopefully, I accomplished that.
