Plain Jane Walking the dog in the Chilterns. Sometimes lots of ideas fill my mind, other times I have a single, strong thought. But with all my stories I never have a full plot. I find writing a novel is like growing an onion - it's very organic, always involves stinging tears, but eventually it comes together in layers that result in something satisfying and worthwhile!

Plain Jane Plotting and writing! I love it when ideas are flowing and manic typing turns into a proper story! Then, the next best thing is when readers tell you they loved your book and can't wait for the next one!
Plain Jane I take my dog for a walk or go and clear up the poo in my horse's paddock. Being outside and doing mundane tasks really clears my mind and creates room for ideas. And occasionally, during these quiet times, I have a real moment of clarity, which is usually followed by an intense, but very enjoyable bout of writing. Writer's block is horrible, but part of the process. The breakthrough, when it happens, is worth the torture!
